The Families First Campaign Empowing Our Communities

November 23 Announcement - Campaign is underway.

At the 2009 Gala Dinner, Campaign Chair, Andy Scott announced Families First: Empowering Our Communities to Foundation supporters.

In 2010, the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Foundation will celebrate its 25th anniversary. Much has been accomplished over the past quarter-century toward the Foundation’s goal of eliminating family violence, including the establishment of the esteemed Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research at the University of New Brunswick, the development of educational and public awareness programs, and the provision of grants to grassroots organizations across Canada. But, as we all know, much remains to be done.

To honour the vision of our founders, who conducted the Foundation’s first campaign in 1992, and to build on the strength of their initial commitment, we will mark this special milestone by launching Families First: Empowering Our Communities, a $5-million campaign that will double the endowment of the Research Centre, expand our educational programs, and substantially increase our ability to fund other like-minded organizations working on the frontlines of family violence.
